Welcome to the new website for BlackHatMedia. After many years our original website has finally been laid to rest. You may have noticed that the new site is built using WordPress, and there are some good reasons for this. Firstly, WordPress allowed us to build a professional looking site very quickly (it took only a few hours, and only that long because it was the very first time installing and using WordPress, and we wanted to use a theme that would fit our desired look and feel). It was easy enough to add a few additional pages with relatively static information on our products and about the company without having to worry about layout and web design. Secondly, having a blog as the foundation for the site means we can conveniently share our thoughts on our business, on the industry we operate in, and on the Internet in general. And hopefully anyone that visits the site will add their own comments too.

It was really eye opening how quick, easy, and cheap it was to put the new site together. Less than one day in effort, and the cost was virtually zero. This really drives home how the cost of developing for the web has fallen over the years, and that is a really good thing. The lower the cost the more innovation we will see as millions of people come up with ideas and try them out without having to raise large amounts of capital. This truly is the greatest time to be alive and the greatest time to start a web based company, despite the global recession.
